Abstract
The present study was conducted to contribute to the development of the teaching process of building the functional style texts, so it was established as a general objective: to develop a teaching strategy to promote the teaching of building functional style texts written in the degree course of Physical Culture at the Faculty "Nancy Uranga Romagoza", University Pinar del Río, Cuba. This research favored the qualitative methodology, although it included elements of quantitative methodology. Theoretical methods were used as the historical – logical, analysis and synthesis, induction-deduction, systematization, modeling and structural-systemic; empirical methods such as pedagogical test, documentary, observation and the survey; statistical methods as descriptive statistics. This teaching strategy contributed to the development of the teaching process of building the functional style texts written in athletes of the first year in the degree course of Physical Culture and in this way the curriculum would be considered feasible, flexible and contextualized for the training of professionals.
