Abstract
A citation is one of the major measures that evaluates the scientific journals reputability, reliability and usability in the international arena. The rate of the citation of a journal is a significant criterion for that particular journals scientific evaluation. Together with the scientific value of the journal, the citations used in an article are important benchmarks for the assessment of that article. In this paper, citations of peer reviewed articles from two library and information science journals which are published by Turkish professional associations and indexed in the international databases are going to be analyzed. Bilimsel dergilerin uluslararası alanda tanınırlığı, güvenirliliği ve kullanımının ölçülmesinin önemli göstergelerinden biri bu dergilere yapılan atıflardır. Bir derginin aldığı atıf oranı o derginin bilimsel değerlendirilmesinin önemli bir ölçütü iken, bir bilimsel makalenin değerlendirilmesinde kullanılan önemli ölçütlerden biri de o makalede kullanılan atıflar ve atıf yapılan yayınların bilimsel değerlendirilmesidir. Bu makalede ülkemizde meslek dernekleri tarafından yayınlanan ve uluslararası alan indekslerinde taranan iki kütüphanecilik/ bilgi ve belge yönetimi dergisinde yer alan hakemli makalelerde yapılan atıfların analizi yapılmaktadır.
