Abstract
Primeiramente, analisa-se o lugar reservado ao sujeito-cidadáo nos documentos oficiais do Estado (PCN, PNLD e Ficha de Avaliaçáo do livro didático). Acreditando que existe uma relaçáo entre a cidadania e os gêneros discursivos no sentido bakhtiniano, faz-se uma análise sucinta de um livro didático cujo foco sáo os gêneros. Conclui-se que a ênfase dos PCN à cidadania (i) náo é a mesma nos demais documentos oficiais; (ii) náo é contemplada no livro didático, nem mesmo no tratamento dado aos gêneros.
