Abstract
Desde la antigüedad médicos y filósofos se han ocupado en interpretar psicológicamente el dolor; los primeros tratando de encontrarle su esencia fisiológica, los otros elucidando sus resonancias anímicas. Unos y otros trabajan sobre el hombre, sobre su personalidad, partiendo del hecho real de la diferente situación del paciente que sufre del dolor, del médico que trata de diagnosticarlo para curarlo, y del filósofo que le busca una interpretación psicológica y ética.
