Abstract
Diante da percepção das vivências de idosos em estágio final de câncer crônico-degenerativo, hospitalizados na ala de cuidados paliativos, constata-se que a religiosidade tem-se mostrado útil por se apresentar como fonte de recursos, e facilitar o lidar com problemas, podendo oferecer alívio para as experiências emocionais negativas, que comprometem o bem-estar dos indivíduos nestas condições. Nessa perspectiva, este estudo procura ilustrar a importância de se investigar a manifestação do fenômeno religioso nos indivíduos, de modo a se obter alternativas para a adequada atuação profissional no atendimento ao idoso em contexto das práticas de saúde.
