Abstract
Torsello es uno de los más calificados representantes del panorama actual de la restauración arquitectónica en Italia. En el artículo que sigue expone de manera muy persuasiva las contradicciones inherentes a las interpretaciones proyectivas sobre el patrimonio que aspiran a convertirse en definitivas. Frente a la expresión “conocer para conservar” propone adjuntar la de “conservar para conocer”, abogando por técnicas como la estratigrafía muraria como vía de conocimiento.
