Abstract
The essay deals with Piero Chiara’s method of work, always relying upon the reality, from which the writer takes his characters’ names and the facts described in his short stories and novels. As a specimen of a similar approach to narrative fiction, an analysis of the novel Vedrò Singapore?(Will I see Singapore?) is proposed, together with an examination of the authentic sources upon which the author based himself to write that book.
