Abstract
The main objective of this research is to investigate educational philosophies that teacher candidates adopt critical thinking tendencies in terms of several variables. Descriptive survey model out of scanning models has been used in the research. Subject of the study consists of 429 teacher candidates that have been selected by simple random sampling method. As a data collection tool, it was used in the research the Personal Information Form, Scale of Critical Thinking Tendency and Philosophy Preference Assessment Scale were used. Descriptive statistics and multivariate variance analysis (MANOVA) have been used in the analysis of data. It was seen at the end of the research that teacher candidates pointed out their opinions as “I agree” for the critical thinking tendency and philosophical preference assessment scales. While the Tendencies of teacher candidates show a significant difference in terms of sex and department variables, they show no significant difference in terms of classroom variable. While their educational philosophies show a significant difference in terms of department and class variables, they show no significant difference in terms of sex variable.
