The work presented in this article involved a quantitative study

agricultural and agro-industrial sector of region 5 and the second
was addressed to experts. In both cases the objectives aimed at determining the need for agro-industrial engineers in the region, the profile of the graduates of a possible career and academic and infrastructure requirements for career and graduates success in their society. The results encourage the creation of a career in Agro-industrial Engineering, because there is currently a need for at least 1,500 professionals and also show an increase in the demand for them. It is also noted that the University should aim to generate links with key stakeholders for the new career to be successful and fulfill its social purpose
