Abstract
Este trabalho propõe uma leitura crítica da noção de jornalismo público na Colômbia,
cuja principal promotora é Ana María Miralles. Esta proposta foi inspirada pelo public
journalism, surgido entre o fim da década de 80 e o início dos anos 90 nos Estados Unidos.
O trabalho põe em discussão principalmente o modo como Miralles concebe o papel dos
meios nos regimes democráticos. Aponta alguns de seus alcances, mas também seus
limites.
