Abstract
The careful knowledge of the building, the diagnostic investigation for the elimination of its pathologies, the preliminary projects of reuse and valorization, the studies of economic feasibility are the basis of the project proposal aimed to make the old factory IpCA in Cirié (Torino) become a site devoted to the "historical memory" for the people of the region. The idea is that business, cultural andsocial activities should still allow to remember those who died after years of working in the "factory of poisons." Based on these considerations, the project of restoration of the IpCA aims at preserving both the memory of the buildings of the industrial complex (in terms of volumes, materials, shape) and the memory of the tragic events that, in the end, have led to its abandonment.
