Abstract
Dans cet article, on examine les aspects marquants de la biographie intellectuelle du renommé politologue argentin Guillermo O'Donnell, décédé fin 2011. On y relève son rôle de protagoniste de la science politique régionale et mondiale, ainsi que sa capacité à construire des institutions et réseaux à un moment-clé du développement de la science politique. On y souligne son habileté à "désigner les meilleurs" dans la démarche d'élaboration conceptuelle indispensable à toute discipline scientifique ainsi qu'à guider certaines discussions qui les concernent.
