Abstract
La muerte de Maurice Maeterlink ha vuelto a poner en vigencia el tema del simbolismo. Con él desapareció el último exponente de la gran generación que a fines del siglo XIX se alzó en nombre del alma, del misterio y del sentimiento del infinito, contra la retórica impasible de los parnasianos, contra la literatura demasiado terrestre de los escritores naturalistas y cientifistas y contra el racionalismo poético que advino como inevitable secuencia de la filosofía positivista.
