Abstract
The papers in this special issue of Türk Kütüphaneciliği (the journal of Turkish Librarianship) review some of the scientific, technological and societal developments and their impact on the profession of librarianship and education for library and information science (LIS), in general, and on the curricula of the Department of Information Management of Hacettepe University, in particular, over the last 40 years.
