Abstract
O projeto de pesquisa "Avendano Júnior: A Tradição do Choro em Pelotas"é desenvolvido sob a coordenação do Prof. Ms. Raul Costa d'Avila 88 , do Conservatório de Música da Universidade Federal de Pelotas, que percebendo a dimensão interdisciplinar do mesmo, decide realizá-lo em parceria com oLaboratório de Ensino e Pesquisa em Antropologia e Arqueologia (LEPAARQ -UFPel). Trata-se de um projeto que envolve três áreas de conhecimento, Música, Antropologia e História, tendo como foco de análise central a figura do compositor e cavaquinista Joaquim Assumpção Avendano Júnior, bem como o Grupo Musical que o acompanha, o Regional.
