Abstract
The goal of this study was to establish the variables that influenced recidivism in juvenile delinquents after the implemented
treatment at the Disciplinary Centre for Juveniles in Canton Sarajevo, Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The research was conducted on the sample of 131 juvenile delinquents adjudicated with the educational measure of
referral to the juvenile disciplinary centre. The statistical analysis was performed in the SPSS 17.0 program package.
The results demonstrated that the significant predictors for the occurrence of recidivism are unplanned spare time, socializing
with peers of an unacceptable behaviour, poor academic success and the risk of pre-expulsion from school. The
results indicate that the treatment should primarily be focused on these variables in order to contribute to the reduction
of recidivism.
