Abstract
Summary. This article is dedicated to restoration process of a national monument of architecture - the Metropolitan
(archimandrite) House in the village of Zhydychyn, Kivertsi region, Volyn oblast, with the account of planning,
constructional, decorative and art characteristics. We analysed the history of construction, existence, deterioration
and renaissance of the monastery, the status of an architectural monument as at ХХІ ct. During the study, we have
identified the main destruction processes of the metropolitan house facades, identified the optimal ways for restoration,
analysed main stages of actual restoration works and their results at this stage. The article also partially touches how
the financial problems issue influence the restoration and refurbishment works.
