Abstract
Desde una perspectiva urbana, el desarrollo de los patrones socioeconómicos se está manifestando en una transformación tan radical en el modo de configurar, gestionar y vivir los asentamientos turísticos, que se puede considerar como un escenario inédito en la historia del urbanismo. Este trabajo, recoge algunas ideas de los distintos imaginarios turísticos en la actual configuración de las ciudades, lo que está marcando que la consolidación económica del turismo lleve a que la ocupación del territorio, la configuración y equipamiento de los espacios habitables, así como la programación de las actividades ciudadanas, se ejecute anteponiendo las necesidades y aspiraciones de los visitantes (infraestructuras, equipamientos y otros servicios turísticos), más que las que determinan los comportamientos socioeconómicos y culturales de los habitantes locales.
