Abstract
É relatado um caso de psicose, de início subagudo, em criança de 7 anos. Ao final de 2 meses de evolução, havia regressão acentuada, alterações do contato, da motricidade, da fala, da esfera instintiva, do pragmatismo. A presença de reflexos patológicos, alterações do EEG e do pneumoencefalograma permitiram o diagnóstico de psicose orgânica. Medicação neurolética foi utilizada em doses altas, coincidindo com remissão lenta e progressiva dos sintomas, a partir do 3º mês de doença, completando-se no 9º mês, de forma total. Discutem-se as hipóteses de diagnóstico etiológico (considerando-se provável a de encefalite desmielinizante) e a possibilidade de ter sido a remissão espontânea ou devida à ação dos neuroléticos utilizados.
