Abstract
Objetivo: Investigar sentimentos geradores de sofrimento psíquico nos técnicos em enfermagem diante do processo de sofrimento e morte do paciente de uma unidade clínica, o qual se justifica pelas vivencias inesperadas e constantes de tensão enfrentados cotidianamente pelos técnicos de enfermagem. Método: Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa e descritiva. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista aberta com técnicos da unidade clínica e analisados a partir da análise de conteúdo das falas na modalidade temática. Resultados: Sentimentos de frustração e impotência foram evidenciados pelos sujeitos, o que resulta em sofrimento, aliviado pela utilização de alguns mecanismos, tais como a religião. Conclusão: Acredita-se que fomentar espaços de discussão sobre o processo de morte e morrer, nas suas múltiplas visões culturais e científicas pode minimizar o sofrimento.
