Abstract
Ühinemine Euroopa Liidu ja NATO-ga muutis oluliselt eesti- ja võõrkeelte õpetamise-valdamise senist paradigmat Eestis. Uus paradigma eeldab võimalikult laiemat eelnevat avalikku arutelu: tuleks läbi vaielda erinevad visioonid ning sündivate kompromisside alusel sõnastada pikaajaline eesti ja võõrkeelte õpetamise ning kasutamise strateegia Eestis.Artikli eesmärk on elavdada uueneva keelepoliitika paradigma arutelu arvestades, et haridus- ja teadusministri lauale on mitmeaastase töö tulemusena jõudnud Eesti võõrkeelte strateegia esialgne kirjalik versioon.
