Abstract
<p>Este artigo tem como objetivo descrever o comportamento de um conjunto de partículas relacionadas à evidencialidade em Parkatêjê, língua Timbira pertencente ao agrupamento genético Macro-Jê e falada no sudeste do estado do Pará. A noção de evidencialidade reflete a relação subjetiva do falante com a informação veiculada, englobando atitude e comprometimento do falante com o dito e com a origem da informação. Essa postura epistemológica incidirá no <em>status</em> da credibilidade dada à informação. Com base em Ferreira (2003, 2005), afirma-se que a língua Parkatêjê apresenta um sistema de partículas evidenciais específicas, utilizadas para codificar as diferentes experiências cognitivas que constituem o conhecimento expresso em um dado conteúdo proposicional.Em outras palavras, o uso dessas partículas indica se a ocorrência foi presenciada pelo falante; ou se esse, por meio de alguma evidência visual e/ou auditiva, pode deduzir que determinado fato aconteceu; ou ainda se ele simplesmente “ouviu dizer” acerca de algo. À luz dos estudos realizados por Chafe (1986), Chafe e Nichols (1986), Delancey (1997, 2001), Dendale e Tasmowski (2001) e Aikhenvald e Dixon (2001), os dados da língua foram analisados chegando-se à hipótese de um sistema de partículas evidenciais com termos reportativo, dubidativo e inferencial.</p>
