Abstract
Este trabalho investiga a especificidade da transmissão radiofônica ao vivo durante coberturas jornalísticas de desastres. A análise utilizou como corpus a cobertura realizada pela Rádio Nereu Ramos AM durante o desastre socioambiental ocorrido em Blumenau (SC) em 2008. Os resultados permitem constatar que em uma situação extrema, as características do meio em suas condições de recepção e emissão são potencializadas pelo telefone, como grande diferencial do rádio, facilitando a transmissão ao vivo e a resposta imediata aos ouvintes.
