Abstract
MARTIN SERRANO, Manuel: en DEL CAMPO, Salustiano (dir.) (1976): Diccionario de Ciencias sociales. Madrid: Instituto de EstudiosPolíticos, pp. 179-184. Los individuos y la misma sociedad desarrollan y utilizan sistemas de regulación institucionalizados para reducir la disonancia. Cuando estos sistemas operan a nivel cognitivo, los denominamos modelos de orden, o modelos mediadores. Desde el punto de vista formal, la mediación equivale al sistema de reglas y de operaciones aplicadas a cualquier conjunto de hechos, o de cosas pertenecientes a planos heterogéneos de la realidad, para introducir un orden. Por ejemplo, el psicoterapeuta pone en orden un conjunto que contiene instintos y constricciones; el político, un conjunto que contiene (recursos y aspiraciones) (o cualesquiera otros elementos que se tengan por materia de la mediación psiquiátrica, y de la mediación política).
