Abstract
Antes de referirme al último libro de poemas de Álvaro Mutis, Los trabajos perdidos. intentaré expresar mi interés por su obra poética. Son muchas las dificultades y limitaciones que asedian este intento, pero la obra de Mutis, que si bien es breve, su alta calidad la hace una de las más estimables entre las que se escriben actualmente en español. Más que un análisis fragmentario de sus poemas, importaría una aproximación a la percepción del mundo en que se mueve, como también la ubicación y aportes que a la poesía colombiana ha efectuado el poeta; pero ese trabajo nos llevaría más del espacio dedicado a esta nota.
