Abstract
Las condiciones higiénicas, sanitarias y de salubridad en el Perú son similares al resto de pueblos de América Latina. Desatada la epidemia los medios de comunicación fueron los aliados eficaces en esta perentoria lucha contra la enfermedad y los primeros en difundir las primeras señales de alerta y las advertencias para evitar que la propagación se produjera con celeridad. Destaca el valor de la revista VIDA, suplemento de salud, semanal, modelo para imitar, que está dirigida a los sectores de más bajos ingresos, se transformó en un auxiliar en la lucha contra el cólera.
