Abstract
The article analyses outstanding scientist and statesman I.A. Vyshnegradsky’s career and activity in the field of vocational education. Special attention is attached to his ‘Project of State General Normal Plan of Industrial Education in Russia’, which was the basis for vocational technical education in our country.
