Abstract
El programa de la Comisión Europea ALFA ha financiado proyectos de investigación conjunta entre Universidades Europeas y Latinoamericanas en diversas áreas del saber. Con el apoyo del programa ALFA el Departamento de Planificación y Diseño Urbano de la UBB coordinó durante el año 1997 un proyecto de investigación. El objetivo de este proyecto era estudiar y analizar las estructuras de cambio territorial en cuanto 'procesos' de cambio y diversidad de 'actores' que orientan e impulsan el sentido de este cambio. Como parte de esta investigación presentamos cuatro casos de cambio territorial; cada uno de los cuales fue presentado por las universidades participantes. Así, tenemos el caso de Lota en Chile presentado por la UBB; de Newcastle Upon Tyne en Inglaterra, presentado por la University of Newcastle Upon Tyne; de Santa Fe de Bogotá en Colombia, presentado por la Universidad Nacional de Bogotá, y de Grande-Synthe en Francia, presentado por la Universidad de Lovaina en Bélgica.
