Abstract
Infortunadamente muy poco se sabe acerca de la vida breve de este escritor y poeta colombiano, nacido en París y muerto por la gloria y el honor de Francia. Lo poco que sabemos de Hernando de Bengoechea, se lo debemos al escritor francés León-Paul Fargue, quien, pocos días antes de morir, dio remate a una semblanza de su joven amigo colombiano, bajo el título de Hernando de Bengoechea ou l'ame d'un poete (ed. AmiotDumont, París, 1948). La verdad sea dicha, esta semblanza es más imaginaria que real.
