Abstract
Bearing atau bantalan peluru adalah merupakan suatu alat/benda yang pada awalnya digunakan untuk mempermudah perpindahan suatu benda yang berat dari suatu tempat ke tempat lainnya. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan penelitian terhadap sample bearing dengan membandingkan bearing yang belum terpakai dengan bearing yang sudah terpakai pada sepeda motor untuk mengetahui komposisi kimia dengan menggunakan alat spektrometer, pengujian metalografi dan pengujian kekerasan dengan menggunakan metode Vickers. Dari penelitian yang dilakukan bahwa bearing tersebut adalah high carbon steel atau baja karbon tinggi rata-rata tertinggi dimiliki oleh bearing baru yaitu untuk bagian outer ring sebesar 766,12 HV, ball bearing sebesar 854,276 HV dan inner ring sebesar 774,592 HV. Sedangkan bearing bekas pakai untuk bagian outer ring sebesar 763,67 HV, ball bearing sebesar 846,394 HV, dan inner ring sebesar  752,37 HV. Dan bearing rusak, untuk bagian outer ring sebesar 753,086 HV, ball bearing sebesar 806,942 HV, dan inner ring sebesar 744,938 HV
