Abstract
Este artigo discute o papel das mulheres na sociedade. Tem como objetivo mostrar as mudanças no papel da mulher na sociedade ao longo do tempo. Atualmente as mulheres estão ocupando espaço em todos os setores da sociedade, mas há muito a conquistar. Os autores que subsidiam o trabalho são Maria de Fátima Silva Porto, Nísia Floresta Brasileira Augusta, Alain Touraine e Susan K. Besse, mostrando-nos a trajetória histórica das mulheres, movimentos de luta e conquistas. Acreditamos que as mulheres hoje em dia ainda são dominadas porque se sentem como se estivessem aquém do que a sociedade espera sobre elas, buscando atender às expectativas dos outros e não do que espera de si mesma. Com essa discussão esperamos que as mulheres comecem a rever seu papel dentro da sociedade.
