El estudio de nuevo material de la Familia Magnoluiceae obtenido mediante canje y por herborización ha permitido aclarar el conocimiento de este grupo en Colombia y Venezuela. En este trabajo se incluye la ampliacion de la diagnosis específica y la descripción de las flores no conocidas de Talauma
sambuensis Pittier, Dugandiodendron colombianum (Little) G. LOZANO-C., y la definición del status taxonómico de Magnolia chimantensis Steyermark & Maguire.
