Abstract
O artigo propõe uma reflexão em torno do conceito de Marca País desde uma perspectiva crítica. Por meio de uma revisão teórica e documental, o autor estabelece os principais elementos que definem e distinguem o conceito circunscrevendo seu desenvolvimento e implementação técnica, sem descuidar a especificidade de sua natureza semiótica e inserção no campo da comunicação e da cultura. A partir dessa aproximação se empreende um breve exercício de análise sob o qual são examinados as potencialidades, alcances, limitações e incluso distorções do conceito Marca País quando interpretado sob a ótica da filosofia do Bem Viver e de sua aplicação concreta ao contexto latinoamericano e caribenho.
