Abstract
Rethinking the events of the First World War, the authors focus their attention on the study, description and analysis of everyday life and public sentiment Tsaritsyn County this period. Principles and methods used by the "local history" involves understanding the attitude of people of a single small community and play its collective biography as part of the history of the country as a whole. This approach is integrated with the ideas of the philosophy of everyday life. For the first time used the original materials of the newspaper "Tsaritsyno Bulletin" July-October 1914. Rear everyday first months of the war had a significant patriotic coloring, which was reflected in numerous projects supporting the front and wounded. At the same time the daily life of the rear retains its familiar features and problems, people were busy on vacation, children's education, entertainment, etc. Breaking strength of the Great War had not yet declared itself and daily county-level cities have not yet acquired traits harsh wartime.
