Abstract
La ciudad de Valencia estuvo sumida durante gran parte del siglo XVII en una profunda crisis financiera. Tras haberse visto obligada a suspender pagos en 1614, el deplorable estado de las finanzas aconsejó en 1623 el inicio de una «visita» de inspección a la Taula de Canvis que puso al descubierto diversos delitos de malversación y descuido por parte de los oficiales. Ello, unido a la crisis triguera de 1629-1631 y a una masiva falsificación de albaranes, desembocó en una grave falta de numerario, que exigió decretar de nuevo la bancarrota en 1634.
