Abstract
Son zamanlarda, Türkiye’de kütüphaneler, kütüphane yönetim dizgelerini bilgisayar ortamına aktarma girişimi içindedirler. Bu açıdan, temel olarak iki alanda yatırım yapmak durumundadırlar: donamın ve yazılım. Verilecek kararın özünü önce en uygun yazılımın seçilmesi ve daha sonra bu yazılıma uygun donanım saptanması oluşturacaktır. Bu yazıda yazılımın kataloglamada, ödünç vermede ve bilgi erişimde kullanımı açısından bir bütün olarak nasıl değerlendirilmesi gerektiği kısaca incelenmiştir. Öte yandan yazılım seçerken sağlama ve süreli yayın izleme işlevlerinin de gözönünde tutulması gereği unutulmamalıdır.
