Abstract
Judges may write a dissenting opinion in court judgments. However, this practice seems to be rarely observed in both civil and criminal cases at Yogyakarta District Court and Sleman District Court. From 2004- 2010, only 4 out of 6.634 court judgments are rendered with dissenting opinions appended.
