Abstract
Pesquisa bibliográfica com o objetivo de analisar as produções científicas abordando o envelhecimento e os desafios para a Saúde Pública nos últimos 10 anos, nas bases de dados: LILACS, MEDLINE, SCIELO E CIDSAÚDE, a partir dos descritores: envelhecimento, idoso e políticas públicas. Na análise dos artigos ficaram evidentes: (i) o elevado custo da atenção à saúde do idoso para os serviços de saúde; (ii) a importância da atuação interdisciplinar no cuidado ao idoso; (iii) e os novos modelos de cuidado que vêm sendo aplicados para superar esses desafios.
