Abstract
This study was aimed at the evaluation of the functionality of educational region branch teachers committee (ERBTC) for physics teachers from different schools. In the work, where a case study method was adopted, document analysis, observations and semi-structured interviews were used as data sources. The participants of the study consist of four physics teachers working in an educational region in the province of Trabzon. Findings indicate that although heads of branch teachers had fulfilled its duties, the ERBTC meetings did not achieve their purpose because the submitted results were not seriously taken into consideration by the authorities. To members of ERBTC, the compulsory regional meetings seemed to be routine, producing always the same decisions. It was also concluded that the records of the meetings did not literally reflect the discussions and suggestions proposed by the members.Keywords: Educational region, branch teachers committee, physics teachersÖzBu çalışmada, Eğitim Bölgesi Fizik Öğretmenleri Zümre Başkanları Kurulunun (EBZBK) işleyişinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Özel durum yönteminin benimsendiği çalışmada veri toplama araçları olarak doküman analizi, gözlem ve yarı-yapılandırılmış görüşmeler kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın katılımcılarını Trabzon ilindeki bir eğitim bölgesinde görev yapan dört fizik öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Bulgular, zümre başkanlarının, kendilerinden beklenenleri yerine getirdiğini ancak toplantı sonuçlarının üst kurul/makamlar tarafından yeterince değerlendirilememesinden dolayı bu toplantıların tam olarak amacına hizmet etmediğini göstermektedir. Bu durumun zümre başkanlarının, EBZBK toplantılarının birbirinin aynısı olan karar ve görüşlerin çıkmasına neden olan zorunlu bir toplantıdan ibaret olduğu düşüncesine sahip olmalarına neden olduğu görülmektedir. Çalışma ayrıca zümre başkanlarının toplantılarda paylaştıkları öneri ve görüşlerin birçoğunu toplantı tutanaklarına aktarmadıklarını dolayısıyla toplantı tutanaklarının kurul görüşmelerini gerçek anlamıyla yansıtmadığını ortaya koymuştur.Anahtar Sözcükler: Eğitim bölgesi, zümre başkanlar kurulu, fizik öğretmenleri
