Abstract
OBJETIVO: Analisar a produção de conhecimento científico da área da saúde brasileira acerca da temática gestantes que tem HIV/aids no contexto da transmissão vertical. MÉTODO: Revisão integrativa de artigos selecionados na base de dados LILACS, a busca procedeu-se no primeiro semestre de 2010. Utilizaram-se os descritores “gravidez” and “HIV” and “1994-2009” e “gravidez” and “síndrome da imunodeficiência adquirida” and “1994-2009”. Critérios de inclusão: artigos de pesquisa. Selecionou-se 41 artigos. RESULTADOS: emergiu da análise do conteúdo duas categorias temáticas: aspectos sociodemográficos e clínicos da transmissão vertical; e assistência à saúde dessas mulheres. CONCLUSÃO: aspectos sociais, clínicos e assistenciais, como baixa escolaridade, transmissão por relação heterossexual, relacionamento estável e despreparo profissional ressaltam a necessidade de estratégias à qualificação da assistência a saúde das mulheres. Há necessidade de inclusão da temática na formação dos profissionais e educação permanente nos serviços de saúde.
