Abstract

Abstract.  A new species of Anopheles from a high altitude in the Eastern Andes of Colombia (2700 to 2840 m. above sea level), very near Bogota, is described. From the characters of the male terminalia, larva and pupa, the species must be included in the subgenus Arthuromyia of which it represents the third known species.  A comparative diagnosis is made between larva, pupa and hypopygium of A. vargasi, A. gilesi and A. oiketorakras n. sp. A few ecological details are given in relation to the present species.
