Abstract
O presente trabalho tem por objetivo subsidiar a discussão que se tem feito a respeito da não concretização dos direitos garantidos pela Lei 10639/03, analisar a origem das relações étnicas raciais desiguais, apresentando o Assistente Social como figura que tem em seu código de ética os fundamentos para atuar ao lado de movimentos sociais, bem como o combate a qualquer tipo de preconceito, e o papel da academia na formação de profissionais que iram colocar esta e outras políticas públicas em pratica.
