Abstract
Procurou-se, com este artigo, fazer uma reflexão sobre os fatores associados ao declínio cognitivo leve em idosos, métodos de avaliação e possibilidades de intervenção. Verificou-se que aqueles idosos com maior escolaridade, com maior suporte social, com um histórico de saúde positivo, com maior engajamento social, com um estilo de vida positivo, com melhor saúde percebida, com menos queixas subjetivas de memória, com melhor saúde mental e com menos sintomas depressivos apresentam menor declínio cognitivo. A avaliação abrange várias etapas e requer um olhar multiprofissional. As possibilidades de intervenção envolvem atividades preventivas e de controle dos fatores de risco, intervenções que ajudam a evitar a evolução do declínio e a reabilitação neuropsicológica.
