Abstract
Dünya Sağlık Teşkilatına göre akar ve içme sularında eser de olsa iyot bulunmaması gerekir. Bu çalışmada spektrofotometrik yöntemle Ankara akar ve içme sularında önemli miktarlarda iyot, iyodür üzerinden tayin edilmiştir. Öncelikle akar sularımızda bulunan iyot miktarı halk sağlığını tehdit edecek şekildedir. Kronik alımda iyotun toksik etkileri göz önünde tutularak suyun dezenfeksiyonunu klor yerine iyot ile yapmaktan kaçınılmalıdır.
