Abstract
Los grandes problemas del urbanismo entre 1894 y 1925 habían tenido a la ciudad de Santiago fundamentalmente como hecho geométrico. Para entonces sólo la capital estaba en la atención del Estado y los urbanistas. Al respecto cabe recordar los 6 Planos de Transformación de Santiago desarrollados en dicho periodo sobre parte de su trama, cuyos trazados, tan matemáticos como rigurosos, perseguían el ideal académico de una ciudad barroca ordenadas por avenidas rectas, diagonales y hasta circulares.
