Abstract
Uno de los más ilustres sabios de la naciente república de Colombia, José Félix de Restrepo, medellinense de cepa, que estudió y se graduó en el Real Mayor de San Bartolomé de Santafé de Bogotá, a los veinte años de edad, es decir en 1780 (1760-1832), ya era profesor de filosofía. Desempeñaba su cátedra a contentamiento general de los alumnos, como corresponde a su clara inteligencia demostrada más tarde en tantos hechos gloriosos que pusieron su nombre entre los inmortales de la patria
