Abstract
A citomegalia é considerada a mais frequente das infecções congênitas, sendo responsável por numerosos casos de deficiência mental e surdez. No Brasil, as publicações sobre este assunto prendem-se, mais especificamente, aos aspectos patológico e epidemiológico. Este estudo preocupa-se em mostrar a importância desta infecção na origem da paralisia cerebral, dando ênfase aos aspectos clínico e laboratorial.
