Abstract
O programa Seis Sigma nasceu e evoluiu em ambiente de manufatura, mas também pode ser utilizado em processos de serviços. Porém sua utilização nesse ambiente tem sido feita de forma mais modesta, com menor participação de empresas e, consequentemente, menor número de casos e relatos divulgados. Este trabalho buscou comparar e analisar a aplicação do programa Seis Sigma em manufatura e serviços, por meio de revisão da literatura, análise de projetos vivenciados pelo autor e pesquisa de campo em empresas praticantes do programa. Apesar da limitação da amostra, os resultados mostram fortes indícios de diferenças significativas cuja melhor compreensão pode ajudar a obter melhores resultados em aplicações em serviços.
The Six-sigma program has its roots in the manufacturing field, but it can be applied to a service process. However, this application has been done in a modest manner, with the participation of few companies and, as a consequence, few cases, projects, and papers have been exposed. This paper presents a comparative analysis of Six-sigma program application in manufacturing and services process by literature review, comparative analyses of Six-sigma projects experienced by the author, and case studies with companies that apply the program in the manufacturing and services field. Even with sample restriction, the results show key differences that can lead to benefits to services application.
