Abstract
Las primeras organizaciones obreras de la época republicana comenzaron a surgir en un período de transición económica y de cambio político e ideológico. La Sociedad de Artesanos de Bogotá, la primera organización obrera organizada en el siglo XIX, se fundó en 1847, cuando una generación nueva de estadistas e intelectuales se preparaba a destruír la estructura colonial de la economía de la Nueva Granada.
