underground e ciberespaço: uma leitura atual para estudos da comunicação

A internet têm atualmente um papel importante na disseminação e construção de iniciativas sociais, políticas e culturais de grupos ou pessoas ditos independentes. As práticas relacionam-se à noção do que ficou conhecido nos anos 1960, no Brasil, como cultura underground, durante o momento de resistência e embate ao mainstream, entendido como tendência dominante. Considerando que há uma relação muito próxima entre a constituição das comunidades virtuais e seu caráter alternativo, apresenta-se uma revisão do conceito de underground, para o que pretende ser um referencial de pesquisas que vêm sendo desenvolvidas na área de comunicação alternativa.

The internet today plays an important role in the dissemination and construction of social, political and cultural initiatives of groups or individuals, so-called independent. The practices relate to the notion of what became known in the 1960s, in Brazil, as an underground culture during the time of struggle and resistance to mainstream, understood as the dominant trend. Considering that there is a close relationship between the formation of virtual communities and their alternative character, presents a review of the concept of underground, for what aims to be a benchmark of research being undertaken in the area of alternative communication.
